We welcome students that are 3 years and older. Lessons will be personalized for each student! You’re never too old to start, all you need is the motivation and willingness to learn!
Yes, every teacher at A Musical Space is qualified. They either hold a degree in music performance or education and they are certified by the Royal Conservatory of Music. In addition, they all have a verified vulnerable sector check.
We recommend practicing music at least 5 days a week. For beginning students, teachers may assign repetitions such as repeating a song 5x per day instead of a time allotment. Generally, a beginner student practices for 20-30 minutes while intermediates practice for 30-60 minutes daily. Practicing at a consistent time or breaking practice into small sessions throughout the day can be helpful.
We’d recommend sitting with them during practice sessions and encouraging them to play and repeat what they learn. Having them teach you a portion of their song or technique can also be helpful! Ask our teachers for further information, as they can provide you with specific practice plans.
Yes, you are always welcome to sit in during your child’s lesson. However, please consult with your child’s teacher as in some cases children become distracted while their parents are in the room.
No, but we are happy to recommend retailers where you can purchase or rent an instrument. We can also recommend an instrument based on your needs.
No, our lessons are paid on a per session or monthly basis. You can decide what works best for you! If you have paid for a full month or quarter and decide to discontinue your lessons, you are required to provide a full weeks notice so that we can return your remaining lesson payment to you.
Cancellation policy: 24 hour notice is required, if not you will be charged for the lesson. If notice is within 24 hours a make-up lesson will be scheduled.
